Advice/FAQ

Q. What is your shop rate?
A. $55.00 per hour

Q. How do I get to your shop?
A. Click here to get a map to the shop (pdf)

Q. What types of payment do you accept?
A. We currently only take cash or checks. We will be getting a credit card machine set up as soon as possible.

Q. How do you determine prices for repairs?
A. We use factory service manuals to determine labor times for specific jobs, then we take that number and multiply it by our shop rate + fees and that is how we get the estimated price.

Q. What “fees” get added onto my bill?
A. We charge two extra fees. One is our “shop supply” fee. We charge a percentage of every invoice to every customer to help us pay for oils, towels, greases, lubricants, etc. The second is our “hazmat” fee. We are very careful with what we do with hazardous materials. We dispose of them according to EPA and OSHA guidelines. We charge a percentage of every invoice to every customer to help pay for disposal expenses and liability.

Q. What types of work do you do?
A. We specialize in late model vehicles and computer/sensor/electrical problems however, we do all types of work on all makes and models of vehicles. We also perform many types of repairs on farm equipment.

Q. What if I had another shop diagnose my car and I just want you guys to do the repair?
A. We always recommend letting us diagnose or re-diagnose your vehicle. We will perform the repair you ask if you would like us to, but it will void the repair warranty. We cannot vouch for any other shops diagnostic ability therefore if we don’t diagnose it we won’t guarantee it.

Q. What if I just want something fixed well enough to get down the road even though it won’t be fixed “right”?
A. We always recommend having your vehicle fixed right; however, it is your vehicle and we will fix it the way you request it if it poses no threat to yourself or anyone else.

Q. What are your qualifications?
A. We will always have an ASE certified technician on staff. Our shop manager is an ASE Certified Master Automotive Technician. He has earned his AAM  (Accredited Automotive Manager) through the Automotive Management Institute and he also has a degree in Automotive Technology from Walla Walla University. High Tech Auto and Farm Repair is also a member of the Automotive Service Association.

Q. What is your warranty?
A. We warranty our work with a 1 year/12,000 mile warranty. This warranty is valid on all jobs where new parts (of our choice) have been used and all of the other qualifications have been met. (See our Policies page for more details.)

Q. Why should I bring my car to you?
A. We are the best qualified, most experienced auto repair facility in the area. We have the tools and the ability to tackle your toughest challenges, and our work is 100% guaranteed. We will do our best to repair your vehicle correctly the first time for a reasonable price.
